Patty Cauley

Lannon Fairy

Golden grassy hills
Cloaked with spring sunshine –
Liquid amber-swirled green,
Pulsing with warmth.

Brilliant clumped flowers.
Fat-chattery robins strutting,
Timid rabbit among field stones.
Sunset over dinner,
Wisping pinks across the sky.

Blue-gray slender shadows
Wind-flitting through glass.
Flashing amidst sunshafts,
Doubled in the mirror,
Dancing on the walls.

Separateness disintegrates,
Boundaries intertwine.
Flesh-bound beings meet:
Delicately savor
Each other’s spirit.
Tentatively touch
Each other’s self.
Shying from physicalness
That may shatter
Web-fragile growing
Connectedness.

Word-spun strands of Spirit,
Poetry and prayer.
Themes of love and sadness,
Past lives and present losses.
Threads of future possibilities and
Out-of-body friendships.

Twilight goddess’s
Thick dark hair
Brushes tall tree tops.
Deepening layers flowing,
Enfolding into night.

Indefinite moonlit outlines
Hold all motionless
As though all movement
Merges into starlight.

Time flees into Moonbeams,
Evaporates into darkness
Soul-aching eternal tenderness
Caress land and folk alike.
